Modest (adjective)

[mod-ist] /ˈmɒd ɪst /

Meaning: Modest has three meanings.
1. (behavior) not too proud of your own achievements and abilities.
2. (size) small or moderate in size or amount.
3. (clothing) not showing too much of a person’s body.

Imagine this, you just got your test results and you scored 99/100. Your friend asked you about your score and your answered, “I got a good score.”
In this scenario, you did extremely well in the test, but you said just “good”.
This is called being modest.
When your friends really see you score, they could say, “You are being modest. You scored 99/100″.
