iota (noun)

[ahy-oh-tuh] / aɪˈoʊ tə/

Meaning: extremely small amount.

iota means a small amount of something. It is often used in a negative sense to say that something does NOT have an iota of something. For example,
I DON’T have an iota of interest in this project.
There is NOT an iota of truth in that politician’s speech.
We can say “an iota” or “one iota” or “single iota“

Imagine, your exams are scheduled for next week and your friend John is not showing any interest in studying. You told him many times to start preparing but he didn’t care and he failed.
You can say, “John did not show one iota of interest in studying and he failed.”
I warned him several times, now I don’t have an iota of pity on him.
