Bittersweet (adjective)

Meaning:
1. Something that has sadness and also happiness both at the same time.
2. Something that is bitter and also sweet at the same time.

Imagine this, you worked for a company for 10 years with a salary of $60,000 per year. You have some great friends there and you love your job a lot.
Today is your last day in that company. Tomorrow you are joining google with a salary of $120,000.
How would you feel? Happy or Sad?
Of course you will feel happy about the new job and also sad about your old job, both at the same time. This feeling is called “bittersweet“.
If your farewell party, you could say, “This is a bittersweet moment for me guys, I’ll miss you all.”

The word Bittersweet is not limited to life experiences like this, we can use it for something like chocolate or wine too.
