White Lie (noun)

Meaning: to small and harmless lie.
Sometimes, when we don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings, we say small lies like, “Your baby is cute.”
This doesn’t harm anyone, we just say it because we want to be polite.
That is called a White lie.
Imagine this, your friend got a haircut and you did not like it very much.
He asked you, “Hey, how do I look?”
You said, “You look good.”
You lied to him, but in this situation the lie is completely harmless and you lied only because you didn’t want to hurt your friend’s feelings.
That is a White lie.

You say mom’s biryani is delicious, but you actually don’t like it.
You say your friend car is awesome, but you actually don’t like the color at all.
You say your uncle’s new house is lovely, but actually you think it is too small.
