Meaning: unable to leave a place because you don’t have any transport or money.
Stranded means getting stuck in a place and unable to go anywhere because you don’t have transport or money.
Imagine you’re driving on a road far from the city. Your car ran out of fuel and it stopped. You tried to ask for help but there is literally no one else on that road. After 3 hours of waiting, a stranger helped you. In this situation, for these 3 hours, you were stranded, because you were unable to move from there due to lack of transportation.
