Abet (verb)

[uh–bet] / əˈbɛt/

Meaning: to support someone in doing something wrong.

John committed a murder and police are looking for him. David is John’s friend, he is letting John hide in his house. In this case, John committed the crime and David is helping him, so he is abetting him. When the police find out, both will be arrested, John for murder and David for abetting.
