Hypocrisy (noun)
[hi-pok-ruh-see] / hɪˈpɒk rə si/
Meaning: pretending to have qualities, beliefs, or feelings that they really don’t have.
The meaning of this word is so easy to explain and to understand, because there is no scarcity for hypocrisy in today’s society. Some people lecture others about loving animals and saving the planet, but they also eat meat and use plastic bottles. That is hypocrisy.
Imagine this, your manager always talks about value of time and the important of punctuality. But he frequently comes late and also wastes a lot of time. In this scenario, the manager really doesn’t believe in importance of time and punctuality, but he is pretending so because he is a manager.
That quality is called Hypocrisy.
Another kind of people who are brand ambassadors of hypocrisy are, you guessed it, politicians.
Yes, they always say so many things that they don’t really believe in, they are hypocritical for sure.
